HOW TO PREP FOR YOUR MMA FINE ART PORTRAIT Mini SESSION

WHETHER YOU'RE BOOKING FOR YOUR CHILD OR STEPPING IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA YOURSELF, THIS GUIDE WILL HELP YOU ARRIVE READY TO MAKE THE MOST OF YOUR MMA FINE ART PORTRAIT SESSION.

THIS ISN’T JUST A SNAPSHOT — IT’S A CELEBRATION OF WHO YOU ARE INSIDE THE GYM.

What to Expect

Each session is less than 5 minutes long, focused, and held at your home gym. You’ll bring your own gear, and I’ll guide you through a few simple, powerful poses that highlight strength, stillness, and story. No modeling experience needed as I’ll direct you (or your child) every step of the way to make sure we capture the essence of their training and spirit. After the session, you’ll receive a gallery with a minimum 5 images carefully selected and lightly retouched by me with the option to purchase additional images and/or prints.

What Are MMA Fine Art Portraits?

MMA Fine Art Portraits are a modern, elevated take on traditional sports photos. No cheesy smiles. No generic poses. Just raw, powerful portraits captured with your home gym as a background designed to honor the fighter within.

Whether it's a child just starting their journey or an adult deep in their discipline, each image is quiet, strong, and deeply personal.

During sessions, I’ll guide your child with a few simple prompts so we can capture a mix of natural expressions and classic portraits. No need to coach from the sidelines- sometimes the in-between moments are the most meaningful. Please know that if your child makes silly faces, serious faces, or can’t stop wiggling, it’s perfectly fine. That’s who they are right now, and it makes for beautiful, authentic photo Fighters are never asked to force a smile but instead, they're encouraged to show up just as they are: focused, fierce, and proud.

HOW TO PREPARE

Sessions move quickly. Make sure you've eaten, hydrated, and are mentally ready. There’s no time for outfit changes. Please come dressed (including hand wrapped)  and warmed up.

ARRIVE ON TIME

Back-to-back sessions mean punctuality matters. Even arriving five minutes late could mean missing your slot.

CHOOSE GEAR THAT REPRESENTS YOU

This is your training identity so I encourage you to choose clean, well-fitting gear (rash guards, shorts, gloves, or gi) that you feel confident in. Avoid large, distracting logos unless they mean something to you.

Outfit Options (Choose 1):

* Gi: Full gi or gi pants only

* No-Gi: Rash guard + spats or shorts

* Boxing/Kickboxing:

    * Hand wraps only

    * Gloves on/off

    * Shorts or Muay Thai-style gear

The goal is to spend more time capturing strong, focused images and less time changing between looks.

Make sure your outfit is:
  • Clean, wrinkle-free, and well-fitted
  • Free of distracting patterns or big unrelated logos
  • Solid colors or classic tones photograph beautifully

BRING PERSONAL TOUCHES

Wraps, gloves, mouthguard, a well-worn belt, or anything that helps tell your fight story are welcome.

TIDY UP
  • Kids: Washed faces, no food on lips or mouths, clean nails
  • Adults: Trim nails, wash your face, and wipe away excess oil or sweat

Light grooming goes a long way in keeping the image sharp but real.

AFTER YOUR SESSION

Two weeks after your session, will be e-mailed the link to your private online gallery. These will be delivered in high resolution which are perfect for printing. Professional print options (including gift prints, wall art, and more) are available to order directly through your gallery. I do not choose which photos you print; you do. Shipping fees are not included with print and product purchases. The ordering process is simple and secure. The gallery will be live for seven(7) days. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED IN THAT SEVEN DAY PERIOD.

In the gym, nothing is wasted. Every rep, round, and moment has meaning. That’s how I approach these portraits. Whether you’re just starting out or deep in your martial arts journey, these images are a reminder of the grit you bring every day.

Let’s capture it.
